Kuwait VIDEO: Time Lapse

Interesting Time Lapse Videos have been made in Kuwait and about Kuwait. I came across one video in the second week of January which was uploaded onto youtube by Ali Younis. The other video I just viewed which was uploaded by 92AlHashemi. For now, just give it a view. Red Bull Car Park Drift

On 10th February, 2012 - Red Bull Car Park Drift took place at Mishref International Fair ground. It is widely covered in Kuwait by a lot of Car enthusiasts.

Unfortunately, I was not able to make it to watch the show, but heard that it was a blast. Many bloggers covered the event and have post a variety of photos and videos. Do look through it.

RunKuwait 200K

I came across this when looking into 10K RunQ8. I have previously written an article on this. The 200 K RunKuwait as it sounds is a 200 kilometer run from North border to South border of Kuwait over a two day period. When I first read about this, I was not sure about the run. This event is taking place on 25th and 26th February 2012 which corresponds to Kuwait's National Day and Liberation Day respectively. I am sure this event is having some good media coverage. Even during the Run, there will be a stop at Kuwait Towers for media coverage.

I am providing links to some pages which will give a clear picture to the above event. The group responsible for the Run is Aymstrong and they can be followed on Twitter also. One of the runners is Faisal Al-Nakib who is having a youtube channel and also can be followed on twitter. I came across this 200k Run on one of the  websites 'Ladies who do lunch in Kuwait'. Then I started looking up on the information related to the above event and came across another site Fitness Expert.

Gulf Run Car Show

I was at the Gulf Run Car Show event today at 360 Mall. It was really impressive to see so many amazing cars at one place. Ferrari, Lotus, Mercedes, Porsche, Audi, BMW etc. HERE is the list of the cars.(Thanks to Mark for the list). The weather in the morning was cloudy and some drizzling was seen throughout the day. Al-Falah Car Wash crew had a nice time keeping the cars looking gorgeous. But I do praise them for their hard work throughout the day.

It was nice to see that KDD had a stall to promote their new Chocolate Milk pack. I enjoyed the famed Ice-creams cones of KDD (Vanilla, Chocolate and Mixed) - Cost KD 0.250. DJ B at the evening. One of the best sight one could see was the clicking away of cameras, be it  a standalone Digital cameras, or the Smart phone ones or even the conventional kind.

Also saw Ducati bike and a stall for Kawasaki with the Vulcan model on display. Also saw the BRP Can-Am Spyder Roadster. Had a nice feel to it.

Two days that also a weekend (Friday the 13th and Saturday the 14th of January) is a nice experience for anyone to see some fancy cars. I really do like the idea of Gulf Run event. I do wish all the drivers to have a great time at Bahrain International Circuit on 26th and 27th Jan. Wishing you all the best for the Gulf Run 7.

Better Books and cafe

I came across the flier shown below on the website Kuwait Paper Dump a couple of months back. I had figured out the location of the Better Books and Cafe but kept lazying out on checking the place. Finally, today I was in the neighbourhood and found myself walking down the stairs into the basement where the cafe is located. I found the atmosphere pleasant and the ambiance very soothing. I was even asked for the kind of music i wanted to hear will checking out the books across the shelves. I spent around an hour and still feel as if I have scratched only the surface. This place has an amazing collection of second hand books which can be purchased. They also have a buy back option which actually is quiet helpful in Kuwait for avid readers. Even if you are interested in reading the books, you can settle down on some chairs, stools and even a bean bag. There is also children's area for reading.So be really entertaining for some parents especially the mothers. The timings of the place is 10am to 8pm. Other interesting things I came to know was about that this place can be used for meeting based on the approval of the owners. For today, Salsa dance classes were in progress. This is  definite Check out place for book lovers.

10K Runq8

This is something I would like to share with rest of the people. I came across this event as I was searching around for Marathons that take place in Kuwait. The total distance for this marathon is 10 kms. Runq8 takes place on 21st January 2012. They have a twitter and a facebook account. This event is for everyone and it is something everyone can do - Run, Walk or Stroll. The venue is Marina Crescent. There are some other marathons that take place, I will update about them also.

Update: The event got postponed from 21st January to 28th January due to unstable weather.

Nat Geo Live Augmented Reality at 360 Mall
