This Post is not about a Video game but some how appropriately coming out on 8th March which is celebrated as International Women's Day. Road Rush is the name of the event organised by the women of Kuwait who love cars and racing. It is a yearly event and this year marks their third. The cars are taken to Bahrain International race circuit where they enjoy two days of driving under controlled condition and expert trainers who give them tips on racing, drags and drifting. This year it is happening on 8th and 9th March 2013.

SkyFall - Base Jumping off Al Hamra in Kuwait

First and foremost, this has nothing to do with James Bond 007, except the thrill of jumping-off the top from Kuwait Tallest Skyscraper - Al Hamra Tower. It stands tall at 412.6 meters and is the tallest sculpted (stone clad structure / fully concreted) tower in the world. Yes, Kuwait holds this record. Now, to find someone daring enough to leap off this structure and be the first one in Kuwait to pull off base jumping from any skyscraper in Kuwait is organised and masterminded by Camco Global Events (Their Insatgram Page). As the statement by the event organiser go "Chris McDougall World Champion & Record Holder B.A.S.E Jumper is leaping off Al Hamra Tower". This person is famous for his base jumping and wingsuit flying. 

The important information about the event are as follows:

Date: 8th March 2013

Time: 1 pm Kuwait Time (10 am  GMT)

Location: Al Hamra Tower, Sharq, Kuwait City, Kuwait.

Hint to getting to Location: Look for the tallest structure on the Kuwait Skyline and move towards it.

K.O. Fighting Game Festival Kuwait

The Gaming Festival kicks off on 7th February 2013 and will go on until 9th February 2013. Three days of tournament which is being held in Kuwait International Fair (KIF) Grounds, Mishref (The same place where Infoconnect  Exhibition took place). So starting off the weekend from Thursday 5 pm onwards Hall Number 8 at Mishref KIF will be the gaming zone. Parking should be sufficient as this event is targeted for Game Lovers. Entrance Charge is KD 5 for three (3) days and also entering into any tournament or tournaments. The whole event is sponsored by Quality Net and powered by White Tower. Infoconnect 2013 - Jan 27

The Infoconnect exhibition will be starting on the 27th January 2013 with the opening ceremony being exclusively for VIPs. Click HERE to enter the official site. A whole week of this exhibition in Hall No 6 and 7 of Kuwait International Fair Ground in Mishref is definitely a place to check out. I am hoping for some amazing offers to be kicking in, be it the telecommunication, internet services or hardware. Usually the telecom companies Zain, Wataniya and Viva go all out during the exhibition making it the most happening place.

The timings for the week from Monday to Thursday will be 9 am to 1 pm and 4 pm to 9 pm. Friday 4 pm to 10 pm. One of my personal suggestions would be that people should check out the parking spaces for Hall no 6 and 7; and also the different entry and exits for the Kuwait International Fair grounds in the coming weeks, so that they can have less discomfort during the exhibition days as this is the cold and rainy season in Kuwait. The exhibition is to be closing down by 2nd February 2013. Update: Some photos from the Infoconnect Exhibition can be seen below.

Super Cars and GulfRun8 - January 2013

The new year of 2013 has started and I am looking forward to some of the events that are going to take place in the month of January. The most awaited event is the GulfRun display of cars (just got updated by @GulfRun on twitter that the display takes place on 11th and 12th January 2013 @ 360Mall Kuwait). The GulfRun 8 event will take place in Bahrain in the last weekend of January (Around 24th-25th January). Usually they put on display the cars 2 weeks prior to the event. I am still awaiting the date and location of the display of the GulfRun participating cars. Last year around 58 cars participated. I hear some more cars might be participating. (Mark has also posted about this event, CLICK HERE for the post which is on his site 248am) (Also Qabaq has posted, CLICK HERE). Talking about cars, it reminds me of another post about the supercars from the gulf. The main article is written in the Daily Mail UK, CLICK HERE to view it. November 10 Fireworks Video Footage

This is an Update to my previous post with regard to Constitutional Day 50th Anniversary celebrations. I wanted to put up some of the links to the video footage available over the internet. The coverage by the National Television was nicely executed (under the Ministry of Information). They really were able to cover from a lot of angles as this event was widely spread. I still would recommend the National Television Footage as it is completely choreographed with the music and camera angles. Other videos really do give the Front-line feel to the fireworks.

Kuwait Fireworks 2012

I had mentioned in one of my previous post about the Kuwait Fireworks being held on November 10th 2012. Now this is kind of an update, but more of a compilation of information I have been coming across the internet. Lot's of bloggers have been keeping a tab on the November 10th Celebrations. The event is being organised by Filmmaster MEA.

November 11th, 1962 was the day went the enactment of the constitution of Kuwait took place. Therefore this year it marks the 50th anniversary of that historical event. The weekend in Kuwait is on Friday and Saturday, hence the government is holding all the festivities on Saturday November 10th 2012. The internet is busy buzzing about one of the shows highlights with the Fireworks display as it is making some history and breaking some records around the world. I will be giving the links for some of the sites.

Mark has been updating information on his blog 248am. Fireworks Display Information and Fireworks Show Preparation Underway.

Expat and the City has also put up a post and given a link to one of the Interviews of the Pilots participating in the fireworks displays (Yes fireworks being launched from the specially designed aeroplanes). Saturday, November 10th Kuwait will make Fireworks history! Below is the video for the interview.

The whole event will take place between 3pm and 10pm. The Fireworks, Laser and light show and also the 3D projection will take place later in the night. Fireworks are expected at 8 pm. (Kuwait Local Time / +3 GMT).

BananaQ8 blog has also put up detailed posts. Kuwait Fireworks Details and Airplanes for Kuwait Firework Exclusive. One can see the planes being used for the Fireworks display in the post mentioned.
